A local Congress leader, Hyder Ali, was brutally murdered near Garuda Mall in central Bengaluru early Sunday morning. Ali, known for his close association with MLA N A Harris, was attacked while returning home on a two-wheeler with a friend around 1 a.m.

According to police reports, a gang trailed Ali before cornering and fatally hacking him. Despite being rushed to Bowring Hospital, he was declared dead on arrival. The incident took place alarmingly close to the Ashokanagar police station, prompting a swift response from law enforcement.

As news of Ali’s murder spread, his supporters gathered outside the hospital, some wielding machetes and swords, raising concerns about possible unrest in the area. Authorities increased security to prevent further escalation.

Ali had a history of criminal charges, and initial investigations suggest that the attack may be linked to gang rivalry. The police have registered a murder case and are actively pursuing leads to track down the perpetrators.

With rising tensions in the wake of the killing, authorities have urged the public to remain calm while the investigation continues. The brutal nature of the attack and Ali’s political connections have intensified scrutiny, with police determined to identify and apprehend those responsible at the earliest.
