Kathua, Jammu & Kashmir: In a surprising turn of events, Congress President Mallikarjuna Kharge briefly fell ill while delivering a speech at a major election rally in Kathua. The event, organized as part of the Congress party’s campaign for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, saw a large gathering of supporters.

Kharge, aged 83, was addressing the crowd when he suddenly showed signs of discomfort. Party leaders and associates on stage quickly rushed to his aid as the Congress president momentarily paused his speech.

Despite the initial concern, Kharge’s condition improved shortly after. He resumed his speech, reassuring the public about his health. In a light-hearted remark, he stated, “I am now 83 years old. Death will not come to me so soon. I will be alive till Prime Minister Narendra Modi steps down.”

The Congress leader went on to reaffirm the party’s commitment to restoring Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood, adding, “We will fight until Jammu and Kashmir regains its statehood.”

Kharge’s brief illness created a stir but did not significantly disrupt the rally, and his strong return to the stage was met with applause from the crowd.
