Congress spokes Bhavya Narasimhamurthy now a part of Indian Army as a Commissioned Army Officer at Territorial Army

It is a proud moment for Congress spokesperson Bhavya Narasimhamurthy as she is now part of the Indian Army as a Commissioned Officer at Territorial Army. 

Her selection was through an exam she wrote in the year 2022 conducted by Directorate General Territorial army

Incidentally, she is the only female Territorial Army officer selected in the 2022 examination.

She is also the first Female Territorial Army Officer to be selected and commissioned from South India till date. 

In the month of May 2024 she was posted in an Army unit stationed near Indo - Pak LOC (Line of Control) where she was trained and commissioned as Lieutenant.

Territorial army is an opportunity for civilians to serve the country as a part of the Indian Army while continuing in their civilian profession.

Some of the prominent personalities currently in the Territorial Army include cricketer MS Dhoni, ex-Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan Sachin Pilot, ex-Cabinet Minister Anurag Thakur and others. 

She will now  be serving the country both as a politician and as an Army officer.
