BJP MP Tejasvi Surya launched a sharp critique of the opposition during the recent Constitution debate in the Lok Sabha, accusing them of undermining India’s integrity and governance. Highlighting the BJP’s stance as defenders of India’s unity, he accused the opposition of catering to vote-bank politics and destabilizing the nation.

Surya asserted, "We have fought for 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' while you supported the 'Tukde Tukde' ideology. We stand against forces like the 'Soros army' aiming to destabilize India." He criticized the Congress for allegedly compromising India’s territorial integrity, referencing historical incidents like the gifting of Katchatheevu island and concessions to China and Pakistan.

Surya also revisited the controversial 42nd Amendment, calling it an imposition of socialism and secularism to perpetuate dynastic politics and stifle competition. He quoted Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's rejection of similar proposals during the Constituent Assembly debates, emphasizing that the Constitution should not impose specific ideologies.

Turning to economic justice, he blamed Congress policies for poverty and underdevelopment, citing economist Swaminathan Aiyar’s research on the human cost of socialist policies. Surya contrasted this with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives, such as providing toilets, electricity, and bank accounts to millions.

Accusing Congress and the communists of sabotaging Ambedkar’s political career, Surya highlighted the RSS’s support for him during elections. He also criticized opposition parties for alleged misuse of constitutional provisions, including imposing the Emergency and abusing Article 356 to dismiss state governments.

Concluding, Surya asserted that the BJP is committed to protecting democracy, the Constitution, and India’s civilizational ethos against divisive forces.
