A shocking video from the Jaipur airport has now gone viral wherein a woman staff member of SpiceJet was seen slapping a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel. A case has been filed against her under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS). SpiceJet has however alleged that their staff was a victim of sexual harassment. “While escorting a catering vehicle at the steel gate, our female security staff member, who had a valid airport entry pass issued by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), India’s civil aviation security regulator, was subjected to inappropriate and unacceptable language by the CISF personnel, including asking her to come and meet him after his duty hours at his home. SpiceJet is taking immediate legal action in this serious case of sexual harassment against its female employee and has approached the local police,” a Spokesperson from SpiceJet said.

With contrasting narratives emerging from the same incident, the truth pertaining to the issue will only emerge when a free and fair investigation will take place. Netizens are however questioning the version being put forth by SpiceJet. “No one gives her the right to slap an officer on duty, SpiceJet even if what you're claiming happened. It is impossible that the officer asked her to meet him after office hours in front of so many people. Everything is on CCTV. You're indulging in false allegations just to save your skin. Shame on you,” Journalist and Filmmaker Deepika Narayan Bharadwaj stated on the microblogging site X (formerly known as Twitter).
