In the past 24 hours, Karnataka has reported 40 new COVID-19 cases, raising the total active cases in the state to 126. Since January 1st, 2025, the cumulative number of reported cases stands at 211, with 84 recoveries and one death. The most recent day saw 14 recoveries but no new fatalities.

COVID-19 testing continues at a steady pace, with 395 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, comprising 344 RT-PCR and 51 Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs). The state’s COVID-19 positivity rate for the latest reporting period is at 10.12%, highlighting a concerning rise in case numbers.

Comparing the past few days shows a sharp increase in cases and positivity rates. On Sunday, 47 active cases were reported, with a positivity rate of 8.65% from 104 tests. On Monday, testing rose to 191 with 37 new cases and a positivity rate of 19.37%, pushing active cases to 80. Tuesday’s 381 tests yielded 36 cases and a positivity rate of 9.44%, with active cases at 100. By Wednesday, the active cases jumped to 126, despite 395 tests, and the positivity rate climbed to 10.12%.

Health officials note that as testing increases, so does the number of positive cases, indicating an upward trend. They are urging citizens to remain vigilant, adhere to safety guidelines, and get tested if symptomatic.
