Karnataka has reported a steady increase in COVID-19 cases, with the number of active cases rising to 238 as of May 31, 2025. Over the last 24 hours alone, the state recorded 58 new cases, and tragically, one death was reported. This brings the total fatalities from COVID-19 this year to four.

According to official data, a 63-year-old man from Bengaluru succumbed to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Other fatalities this year include an 84-year-old from Bengaluru, a 70-year-old from Belagavi, and another 63-year-old from Mysuru.

The positivity rate for the last 24 hours stands at 13.8%, based on 420 tests conducted (354 RTPCR and 66 RAT). Encouragingly, 53 patients recovered from COVID-19 in the same period, bringing the total number of recoveries this year to 183.

Of the 238 active cases, 225 patients are under home isolation, while 13 are hospitalized,  7 in private hospitals and 6 in government facilities.

The weekly data shows fluctuating positivity rates and case numbers, with Friday marking the highest positivity rate at 24.7% with 114 new cases.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely, urging the public to remain vigilant and follow safety protocols.
