Preliminary information suggests that the recent Covid-19 cases reported abroad are largely mild in nature, without indications of severe illness or fatalities. Indian health officials emphasized that there is currently no evidence of unusual clinical patterns or increased mortality associated with these new cases.
As per the latest update, India has recorded 257 active Covid-19 cases. All of these are reported to be mild and none have required hospitalization. This is being seen as a sign that the situation is under control and manageable at this point.
The DGHS meeting included key representatives from the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the Emergency Medical Relief (EMR) division, Disaster Management Cell, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), and several central government hospitals. These agencies reviewed current data, surveillance systems, and preparedness levels.
The Union Health Ministry reassured the public that it is staying alert and closely tracking the developments both within the country and globally. Authorities affirmed that they are ready to take timely and appropriate action if needed. Preventive and monitoring measures remain in place as a precautionary step.
