Following the brutal terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives on April 22, security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have launched a massive crackdown on terrorists and their supporters. In the last 48 hours, six terrorists’ houses were demolished, while search operations continue across the region.

Here are the latest developments:
- Jammu and Kashmir Police confirmed raids at over 60 locations across Srinagar on Saturday. Mobile vehicle checkpoints were also established across Anantnag to monitor suspicious activities.
- In Uttar Pradesh, all Pakistani nationals on short-term visas, except one, have been deported following directives from the Centre. State DGP Prashant Kumar confirmed the move was completed promptly.
- DGP Kumar also instructed state officials to ensure the safety of Kashmiri students, tourists, and business vendors amid heightened tensions.
- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma criticized Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s anti-India remarks, asserting that India, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, would dismantle terror networks worldwide, with national security being non-negotiable.
- FBI official Kash Patel expressed solidarity with India, offering condolences and assuring full support against terrorism following the Pahalgam tragedy.
- AAP MP Sanjay Singh pointed to “security loopholes” and urged the government to bring the perpetrators to justice, emphasizing the tragedy’s severity during an all-party meeting.
- Senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar reflected on the historical roots of the tragedy, linking unresolved Partition issues to the ongoing conflict.
- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian condemned the attack during a call with PM Modi, stressing the importance of regional cooperation against terrorism.
- Ashanya, the wife of martyr Shubham Dwivedi, demanded official recognition of her husband’s sacrifice, highlighting his bravery during the attack.
- J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah deployed ministers to different states to safeguard Kashmiri students and traders amid reports of harassment post-attack.
