The city’s already burdened traffic situation is worsening due to the poor condition of roads riddled with potholes and uncovered manholes, according to updates from the Bengaluru Traffic Police on their official X handle.

Traffic movement across several parts of the city has slowed to a crawl, particularly during peak hours, as vehicles struggle to navigate the damaged and uneven stretches. The situation is further aggravated by open or elevated manholes, posing not only a mobility issue but also serious safety risks to two-wheeler riders and pedestrians.
Areas like Whitefield, KR Puram, Hebbal, and parts of Outer Ring Road are experiencing significant delays, with commuters facing long travel times due to vehicles slowing down to avoid damage or accidents on pothole-filled roads.

The Bengaluru Traffic Police have expressed their frustration, highlighting how such road conditions are hampering their efforts to regulate traffic efficiently. They are urging civic authorities to act swiftly and initiate repairs before the monsoon rains worsen the situation further.
With the pre-monsoon showers already hitting parts of the city, residents and traffic personnel fear that water-filled potholes could lead to more accidents and longer jams. Commuters are advised to remain cautious and plan extra travel time.
