Cricket stands for camaraderie and building bridges. But it should not be a weapon for hate and threats. Unfortunately, that seems to be the case as Travis Head, the protagonist in the Australian victory against India at the World Cup final at Ahmedabad has been at the receiving end. 

Upset over the defeat, a few fans have issued rape threats to his wife and 1-year-old daughter.

Travis Head scored a magnificent 120 off 137 balls, ensuring his team romped home to victory, handing over an ignominious defeat to hosts India. 

Naturally, a few netizens have not taken it lightly. 

Travis is India’s ‘Head’ache!

Perhaps, Travis had reserved his best for the grand finale at Ahmedabad as his purpose-filled innings ensured his team lifted the World Cup trophy for the 6th time. 

Though the men from down under lost 3 quick wickets within ten overs, it was Travis who held the innings together with his grit and determination. He was declared the Man of the Match deservingly. 

As far as India are concerned, they were invincible in 10 out of 10 matches, but the final was simply not their cup of tea. 

Needless to say, a million dreams came crashing down!
