A police official reportedly mentioned, “It is believed that David Jude Johnson fell from his apartment in Kanakashri Layout in Kothanur, raising suspicions of suicide.”

In his prime, Johnson played two Tests and 39 First-Class matches, being part of a formidable Karnataka bowling unit alongside Anil Kumble, Javagal Srinath, Venkatesh Prasad, and Dodda Ganesh.
