A tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam has left the nation in mourning, with 26 people losing their lives in one of the deadliest assaults in recent times. The incident, which took place around 3 PM, saw eight terrorists—two of them local—descend from Baisaran Valley and open fire on unsuspecting tourists, pretending to engage in friendly conversation.

The Resistance Front, a faction linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has claimed responsibility for the attack, which shattered the fragile calm returning to the region.

India’s cricket fraternity reacted with deep sorrow and outrage. Former captain and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, batting stalwart Virat Kohli, and K.L. Rahul were among the many who condemned the violence.

Virat Kohli, expressing his anguish, stated that he was saddened by the heinous attack in Pahalgam. He expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the victims. May the souls of the deceased rest in peace and may justice prevail.
