Batsman Kohli departed without troubling the scorers during India’s clash with England on October 29th. The English bowlers maintained a tight length and choked him for runs. Without having got off the mark in 8 balls, Kohli attempted an aerial shot but failed to clear Ben Stokes in the inner circle. 

Barmy Army, a travel agency which facilitates travel for English cricket fans and also has an active presence on Twitter, made a meme to take a jibe at Virat Kohli on this occasion. They superimposed an image of Kohli on a duck and posted it with a caption, “out for a morning walk.” The picture received more than 16 million views, 46,000 likes and 9,300 retweets. Indian fans had initially retorted by showcasing England’s position in the points table.

However in their chase of 230, both batsman Joe Root and all rounder Ben Stokes had gotten out at the score of 0. Joe Root was trapped leg before wicket in his first ball by Bumrah and Ben Stokes too was bowled out by Shami shortly. Indian fans did not miss out an opportunity to hit back at them. “Just give us time to make the edits,” Bharat Army had posted with a picture of Joe Root superimposed on a duck. “Just out on an evening walk” another fan commented. India registered a comprehensive 100 run victory on the back of an impressive spell by bowlers Shami and Bumrah.
