Australia beat India in the WC final

Australia have won the World Cup 2023 emphatically and are celebrating the victory zealously. However, a pic has gone viral online in which their cricketer Mitchell Marsh can be seen placing his feet on the trophy.

A gesture like this has surely not gone down too well with a few netizens. Some have urged the International Cricket Council (ICC) to take note of the development and bring him to book.

Some others have termed it ‘disrespectful’.

In one of the comments, a user said, “This attitude towards the World Cup is precisely the reason why they won it. Unlike us Indians, they  took it easy and weren’t under a pressure of taking the WC home.  They just enjoyed the journey and the game without pressure and results are for all of to see!”

To this, another user retorted by giving a different perspective. He said, “It’s common there and many other foreign nation. Itna Dil pe lene ki zarurat nahi h. BCCI Kya karega ismein, trophy h hi nahi yahan. Aur ICC, you chill.”

Australia beat India by 6 wickets

As India prayed that the men in blue would emerge victorious, it simply didn’t fructify as Australia beat India by 6 wickets at Ahmedabad.
