India’s ongoing digital transformation presents a massive opportunity for Rubrik to secure its digital future, CEO Bipul Sinha reportedly said.
Rubrik plans to invest hundreds of millions of dollars in India, focusing on workforce expansion and partnerships. The company aims to recruit talent from top universities while scaling its operations across engineering, sales, marketing, and local system integrators. India’s market holds vast potential across government and private sectors, and Rubrik is approaching it holistically.
Founded in 2014 by IIT alumni Bipul Sinha, Arvind Jain, Arvind Nithrakashyap, and Soham Mazumdar, Rubrik entered India in 2017. Its Bengaluru research and development center, established in 2019, has become a hub for innovation in data security and ransomware recovery.
With over 1,000 employees in India—its largest workforce outside the U.S.—Rubrik also operates sales teams in Delhi and Mumbai. Globally, the company employs 3,000 people.
Rubrik went public on the NYSE in April 2024 and achieved $1 billion in annual recurring revenue by December, growing 38% year-on-year. India contributes significantly to its customer base, including major banks and global IT outsourcing firms.
