According to Roopa, Sindhuri made a defamatory public statement about her on February 19, 2023, which was later posted on X (formerly Twitter). The post has garnered 1.8 lakh views. Roopa claims these remarks tarnished her reputation and led to professional repercussions, including a transfer and six months of being posted without a salary. She also stated that her family, including her younger sister and mother, has suffered as a result.

This case adds to the ongoing legal battle between the two senior bureaucrats. Sindhuri had earlier filed a defamation case against Roopa and had approached the high courts and the Supreme Court seeking its quashing. The Supreme Court had urged both parties to reconcile, but no resolution was reached.

With mutual defamation cases now pending, the matter remains unresolved in the courts. The ongoing feud has drawn significant public attention, highlighting the discord between the two high-ranking officials. Further proceedings in the case are awaited.
