Darshan arrest case: Crime aside, producers claim rights for the title ‘D Gang’

Close on the heels of Darshan and his gang being arrested in the alleged murder case of Renukaswamy, a pharmacy store worker, the title ‘D Gang’ has been in great demand. 

Director Raki had come forward to register this title under the Davanagere FM Film Banner, but the film board has refused to grant it to him.

He has said that had been working on the title for the last two years, but claims there is no relation with the murder episode involving Darshan. To this effect, he says that they have uploaded a lot of video songs on Youtube earlier. 

He now claims that the same title can be awarded to other big producers and directors. 

The case

Darshan and his gang have been accused of murdering Renukaswamy after being kidnapped into Bengaluru from Chitradurga. He was led into a shed by a mob of around 17 people. There, it is said Darshan himself attacked the victim and showed his massive aggression at him. 

It is said he was given electric shock before being killed. Later, his body was disposed of in a drain, in an obvious attempt to portray it as a murder for financial fraud. 

Darshan is A2 while Pavitra Gowda is A1 in this case.
