In a significant development, police have introduced serious allegations in the remand application of Darshan’s gang, currently under arrest in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case. After the judicial custody ended today, the accused, including Darshan, appeared before the court via video conference from Parappana Agrahara jail.

The session was presided over by Judge Vishwanath C. Gowder of the 24th ACMM in-charge Economic Offenses Court, who confirmed the presence of the accused. The government counsel filed a remand petition, resulting in the extension of the judicial custody of Darshan and his associates until August 14. The court instructed to serve the judicial custody remand petition to the counsel of the accused.

The remand application has unveiled new findings from the ongoing investigation. The police claim that certain individuals, acting on behalf of the accused, have approached the family of the deceased Renukaswamy.

The accused, who are deemed influential, possess substantial financial resources and a considerable fan base. This influence raises concerns that supporters of the accused might attempt to threaten or bribe the family of Renukaswamy to prevent them from testifying.

There are also reports of witnesses being intimidated and bribed by the accused’s supporters. Consequently, the police argued that granting bail to the accused could lead to the destruction of crucial evidence in the case.
