Darshan complains about weight loss and diarrhoea to Magistrate Court

Sandalwood actor Darshan also referred to as the Challenging Star has found difficulty in adjusting to the food being served to him in prison. Darshan requested for homemade food during his judicial custody. He filed a petition in the High Court in this regard. The High Court directed Darshan to seek suitable instructions from the Magistrate Court. Darshan’s lawyers filed a petition in the Magistrate Court subsequently. 

Darshan has reportedly claimed that he has reduced weight during his judicial custody and is hence in need of home made food. He has also apparently put forward a request for a mattress and some clothes from his home. The lawyers have cited the sixth chapter of the 1963 Karnataka Prisons Act to justify their request. Darshan has cited digestion problems with regard to the food being served to him in jail. He has supposedly suffered from Diarrhoea on account of the food being served.  Darshan has also complained about a joint pain in his right hip and a spondylitis problem. Justice Vishwanath C Goudar examined the petition filed by Darshan.

The court sought for a report pertaining to food poisoning. The prosecution expressed opposition to this. A final decision with regard to this request will be taken before July 27th.
