17 suspects including Sandalwood actor Darshan also referred to as the Challenging Star are currently behind bars over a suspicion of involvement in the murder of Renukaswamy. Darshan has been visited by his family members and other celebrities of the Sandalwood film industry ever since his arrest. Many opinions either in favour of or against Darshan have emerged ever since the case came to light. 

Sandalwood actor Vijay Raghavendra has opined on this issue for the first time since Darshan’s arrest. “It is disheartening that Darshan has a role in the murder of Renukaswamy. Darshan is like a family member to us. He is my senior. I wish that everyone is able to walk out of this issue in a positive light. I wouldn’t call this a development. News pertaining to the investigation of Renukaswamy’s murder is all that I can see over the past few weeks. The shooting of ‘Devil’ coming to a halt has also brought pain to producer Milana Prakash,” Vijay said.

Renukaswamy’s act of allegedly sending obscene messages to actress Pavithra is what set off a chain of events that eventually resulted in his murder. Darshan’s lawyers haven’t applied for bail as they are waiting for the police to file a chargesheet.
