Darshan-starrer ‘Kaatera’ sets record 6 hours after theatrical release

The celebrations around Sandalwood actor Challenging Star Darshan-starrer “Kaatera” started right from the midnight of 29th December. Certain shows were given a midnight slot in light of the excitement for the film among the audience. Darshan fans were completely bowled over by what they witnessed.The queues outside the theatres were very extensive. Even at such an odd hour, the fanfare for the film was at an all time high. 

Darshan’s performance in the film has been receiving rave reviews. 21 theatres broadcast the film at midnight. The 3 AM show was showcased by 43 theatres. The number of shows for the entire day extends up to a massive 1670 shows. The 1670 shows are spread across 389 single screen theatres and 72 multiplexes. This has created new records in the context of Kannada films. 

The 4 AM show was displayed in 77 theatres. The 5 AM show was screened in 89 theatres. The 6 AM show had secured a release in 105 theatres. 

The cumulative number of shows even before sunrise has been 335. This is a new record for a Sandalwood film.
