    Fmr cricketer heaps praise on David Johnson

    David Johnson was known for his sheer pace

    He died earlier this morning after suffering a fall

In a candid one-on-one with NewsFirst Prime, former Karnataka cricketer Srinivas Murthy pays glowing tributes to David Johnson who passed away earlier today. 

The former cricket recalled how Johnson was a fearless cricketer, who always kept the interests of the team above his.

He said, “He was a fearless cricketer. We certainly miss him. He had raw pace with him. He was a skiddy customer.” 

On his failure to sustain himself at the international level in spite of having talent, he said, “That is because he didn’t have control and variations.” 

On his selfless nature, he underlined, “He used to give his 100%. He didn’t have individual goals. He was a team man. He was appreciated by all. He was a very simple and uncomplicated character.” 

Earlier today, news of David Johnson’s death saddened many a person. He fell off the fourth floor of his apartment building. The exact reason is not known. Some even speculate it was a suicide. 

We pray to the Almighty that his soul rest in peace.
