Actress Deepika Padukone has announced that her beloved 2015 film Piku will return to theatres to celebrate its 10th anniversary. Taking to Instagram on Saturday, she shared a nostalgic video featuring her co-star Amitabh Bachchan along with iconic scenes from the movie.

In the clip, Amitabh addresses the audience, saying, “Nomoshkar Piku, remember? Piku, Bhaskar da, they went on a road trip. Don’t remember? Watch this. It was an amazing road trip – unpredictable and unforgettable.” He added that the film had everything from emotions and laughter to tension, and encouraged viewers to revisit it in theatres.

Piku will hit theatres once again on May 9, 2025, exactly a decade after its original release. Alongside the video, Deepika wrote an emotional caption: “A film that will always have my heart-PIKU is back in theatres on 9 May 2025 to celebrate its 10th Anniversary ! Irrfan, we miss you ! And think about you every so often…”
Fans warmly responded to her post, expressing their excitement and love for the film. Many called it a timeless classic, referring it to their “comfort movie”, while others praised Deepika, calling her a masterpiece herself. The re-release promises to be a heartfelt tribute to the film and the late actor Irrfan Khan.
