    OPD shall remain: AIIMS

There's no going back from this misadventure: Lavanya

AIIMS Delhi is on high alert till February 21st

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS)  has reversed its decision to remain closed for half-a-day on 22nd January in light of the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha after public backlash from opposition parties over the decision. In a fresh notification issued on 21st January, AIIMS clarified that the Outpatient Department (OPD) will remain open on 22nd January. “The OPD shall remain open to attend to patients with appointments in order to prevent any inconvenience to them and to facilitate patient care,” the notification stated.

Earlier a notification from AIIMS which stated that “the Government of India has declared Monday the 22nd January, 2024 half day closing till 14.30 as Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha at Ayodhya will be celebrated across India. It is notified for information of all the employees that the Institute will remain half day closed till 14.30 hrs on 22.01.2024. All Chiefs of Centres, Heads of the Departments, Units and Branch Officers are requested to bring this to the notice of all staff working under them. However, since AIIMS New Delhi is on high alert for a period of one month till 21.02.2024, all CRITICAL CLINICAL services shall remain functional,” drew the ire of opposition parties. “This is the most illogical decision ever, how can hospitals stay closed? There’s no going back from this bizarre, dystopian misadventure,” Indian National Congress (INC) spokesperson Lavanya Ballal Jain said.
