Following a recent terrorist attack on tourists in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam district, the Intelligence Bureau (IB) has provided the Delhi Police with a list of approximately 5,000 Pakistani nationals residing in the national capital. In line with a central government directive, their visas have been revoked, except for medical, diplomatic, and Long-Term Visas (LTVs) granted to Hindu Pakistani nationals.

The Foreign Regional Registration Office (FRRO) shared the data with the Delhi Police Special Branch, which has distributed it to respective districts for verification and action. Officials have been instructed to identify and ensure the early return of affected individuals to Pakistan. Senior officers are closely monitoring the operation.
Special Branch and Intelligence Bureau teams have been tasked with collecting information about Pakistani nationals and facilitating their departure. Authorities are cross-verifying two overlapping lists of about 3,000 and 2,000 individuals, as many have reportedly already left.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has ordered that all Pakistani visas, barring specific exemptions, be considered invalid from April 27, 2025. Medical visas will also expire by April 29, 2025.
Large concentrations of Pakistani nationals have been reported near Majnu Ka Tila, housing around 900 individuals, and the Signature Bridge area, where an estimated 600–700 reside. Immediate actions are underway across the Central and North-East districts, which host a significant share of this population.
