Delhi: Roof collapses due to heavy rain at Terminal-1 of airport; more than 6 persons injured

A major infrastructural collapse occurred at the Delhi Airport due to heavy rain. A roof-collapse has been reported in Terminal-1 of the airport, resulting in several cars being damaged. More than 6 people have been grievously injured. 

Major parts of Delhi experienced heavy rainfall on 27th June. Roads were subsequently flooded. Amidst the rain, the roof collapse is said to have occurred at 5:30 AM on 28th June. The roof received a substantial amount of rainfall. This led to its eventual collapse. Cabs which were stationed outside terminal-1 were damaged due to the collapse. The injured individuals include those who were stationed inside the cabs. They were thereafter shifted to a nearby hospital.

The operations in terminal-1 of the Delhi Airport were halted due to the turn of events. Offices in Terminal-1 of the airport were closed. Terminal-1 was closed. These steps were taken keeping in mind the safety concerns of the officials working in the location. An official notification by aviation authorities confirmed this development. An incident of this nature taking place at the Delhi Airport known for its sophistication is indeed shocking.
