The case pertaining to the obscene videos supposedly belonging to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate from Hassan Prajwal Revanna has become a matter of severe political contestation in the state of Karnataka. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)- Janata Dal (Secular) (JD(S)) alliance are now raising doubts over the way in which the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has handled the case. Leaders of the Indian National Congress (INC) have also responded to these doubts. 

The NDA partners have termed the SIT as the Siddaramaiah-DK Shivakumar Investigation Team. They have alleged that the SIT isn’t proactively interrogating Karthik, the driver of Prajwal Revanna who initially made a copy of the videos. Devaraje Gowda, the BJP leader to whom Karthik handed the videos, has alleged that the SIT pressured him to delete certain aspects of his statements. He stated that he will file a criminal case against the SIT.

Kuamraswamy earlier alleged that Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar had a role in the spread of the videos. Priyank Kharge, the Minister of IT/BT in the Government of Karnataka has now responded to these allegations by asking what the JD(S) was doing when 25,000 pen drives were being distributed.
