Dhanush’s latest directorial venture, "Raayan," is making waves at the box office, with a gross collection of Rs 95 crore in its first five days. The crime drama, which hit theatres on July 26, is poised to surpass the Rs 100 crore mark by its sixth day, setting it up as one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of the year.

Despite mixed reviews, "Raayan" has captivated audiences, securing over Rs 50 crore net in India alone. The film’s robust performance continued through the weekdays, demonstrating its strong appeal. On Tuesday, July 30, it garnered an estimated Rs 4.50 crore net in India, bringing its five-day total to Rs 52.95 crore net.

"Raayan" was released in both Tamil and Telugu and has maintained impressive occupancy rates, with the Tamil version at 22.48% and the Telugu version at 17.52% on July 30. If this trend continues, it will mark Dhanush’s third film to cross the Rs 100 crore threshold, achieving this feat in just six days.

This milestone would be particularly significant for Dhanush, establishing him further as a powerhouse in Tamil cinema. Industry analysts predict that "Raayan" could potentially exceed Rs 150 crore during its full theatrical run.

Adding to the film’s acclaim, renowned actor Mahesh Babu praised "Raayan" on social media, highlighting Dhanush’s dual role as actor and director, and recommending the film as a must-watch for cinema lovers.

As "Raayan" continues to draw crowds, it solidifies Dhanush’s reputation and contributes to the vibrant landscape of Tamil cinema in 2024.
