Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, renowned for his exceptional acting skills, has also earned global recognition for his humanitarian efforts and influence on the film industry, receiving five honorary doctorates from prestigious universities worldwide.

Khan’s journey in academic honours began in 2009 when the University of Bedfordshire awarded him his first honorary doctorate. The British institution recognized him not only for his profound impact on the arts but also for his international philanthropy. This marked the beginning of a series of accolades celebrating his contributions beyond cinema.

In 2015, Khan was honoured by the University of Edinburgh, one of Scotland’s oldest universities. This second honorary degree was in recognition of his remarkable work in global philanthropy and his transformative influence on the film industry. His acceptance speech, touching on his life's challenges and achievements, was widely appreciated by students and faculty alike.

Shah Rukh Khan’s third honorary degree was conferred by Maulana Azad National Urdu University in Hyderabad. The institution lauded his immense contributions to Indian cinema and his efforts to promote cultural understanding through film.

In 2019, the University of London honoured Khan with a degree for his long-standing influence on the film industry and his commendable humanitarian work. That same year, he was further recognized by La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia, receiving his fifth honorary doctorate, also acknowledging his contributions to the arts and philanthropy.
