Divya Spandana reacts to death rumours

On September 6th, around noon, reports of actress-cum-politician Divya Spandana having succumbed to a cardiac arrest were making the rounds on social media and were even picked up by certain media outlets. However, this was an instance of propagation of fake news. She was alive and well and having a jolly time in Geneva. This was before the spread of fake news which reportedly left her aghast. 

Confidantes of the actress spoke to News First Prime and confirmed the news of her being hale and healthy. Senior Journalist Chitra Subramaniam had also confirmed the same on X, formerly known as Twitter by posting a selfie with Divya Spandana. Spandana responded to the post by stating that she would be in Bengaluru soon. 

Divya Spandana spoke to the media regarding the whole episode. She was reportedly shocked at the irresponsible reporting. She stated that it is reflective of the present times. She expressed disgust at the thought of having to clarify that she is alive. She characterised the situation as being bizarre and remarked that it has happened on 2 occasions in the past as well. She speculated that such fake news is propagated just to provoke a reaction from celebrities. She stated that this is part of the game to gain TRPs. She added that she got the experience of what would prevail were she to actually die.
