The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has planned a procession starting from Bengaluru going all the way up to Mysuru in light of allegations pertaining to irregularities in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) and the alleged Valmiki Development Corporation scam. The former Chief Minister of Karnataka H.D Kumaraswamy had initially raised objections in supporting the procession. He has however reportedly been convinced after consultations with the BJP high command in Delhi. The Indian National Congress (INC) has planned public meetings in places which the BJP intends to cover as part of their procession.

H.D Kumaraswamy is said to have had a meeting with BJP President J.P Nadda after he publicly lashed out at the BJP for not taking Janata Dal (Secular) leaders into confidence while planning the conference and having BJP leader Preetam Gowda at the helm of affairs. H.D Kumaraswamy alleged that Preetam Gowda had a major role to play in leaking the obscene videos of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate from Hassan in the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, Prajwal Revanna. BJP Karnataka State President B.Y Vijayendra provided clarity in this regard.

He added that the requisite permission for the protest has not been granted. The procession is scheduled to begin on August 3rd.
