The Bengaluru Police have intensified their crackdown following the stampede-like incident during the RCB victory celebration on June 4. In the latest development, Sunil Mathew, Director and Vice President of DNA Entertainment Networks, along with DNA Manager Kiran, has been arrested by Cubbon Park Police for their alleged role in the mismanagement that led to the chaos.

The arrests come after RCB Marketing Head Nikhil Sosale was taken into custody. All three, Nikhil, Sunil Mathew, and Kiran were jointly interrogated at Cubbon Park Police Station, following orders issued through Ashoknagar Police Inspector Ashok.
Initial investigation revealed that DNA Entertainment, the agency contracted for event management, failed to implement adequate crowd control measures, despite expecting massive footfall. Promises of “free entry” and “tickets at gates” posted via RCB’s official social media further aggravated the situation, drawing thousands of fans to Chinnaswamy Stadium, many of whom were left stranded or caught in the surge.
Authorities say DNA’s team, under the supervision of Sunil Mathew and Kiran, did not coordinate sufficiently with city police or civic bodies. Their operational negligence, combined with the unauthorized promotion of a victory parade, contributed directly to the disarray that unfolded outside the stadium.
