  • Raditions have an effect on sperm quality

Sharon Gilchrest O'Neill, a marriage therapist has stated that scrolling before going to bed is a turnoff for some couples. Calls on the mobile are said to intervene during sexual intercourse with 33% of the people commiting to receive the call as per a report in the Daily Mirror. Gamers are also susceptible to low sex drive with a research by the Oxford Journal of Sexual Medicine suggesting that gamers report lesser sexual desire after a session of intense gaming.

Reduced screen time is said to have a positive impact on sex life with reduced level of anxiety and stress and also an improved level of focus. Other concerns are regarding unrealistic standards set by pornographic sites that lead to performance anxiety. The radiation the device emits is also said to have an impact on sperm quality.

Dr Sharif Mowlabocus, an Associate Professor in Communication and Media Studies at Fordham University investigating digital behaviour and sex believes attachments to phones increase anxiety about not being stimulated. “Time on our social media allows us moments of ‘doing’, and let’s face it, we’re nervous about being in the world. We’ve been trained into continual engagement and mental stimulation. As a result, we’re worried about just being,” she said in an interaction with Red Online.
