Most of us love to travel, don’t we? However, some of us can’t travel to places that are exorbitant. So, we can all travel to places that are similarly placed in terms of terrains, landscapes or other features.

Such destinations are called destination dupes.

For example, Bengaluru is a destination dupe for Silicon Valley, Perth is for Sydney, Taipei for Tokyo.

1st Move International, a moving company has put a list of dupe destinations in this regard.

But why dupe destinations? 

The reasons are simple. The places that mimic the actual destination have very similar features. And most importantly, they are not exorbitant. So travellers can enjoy the sameness at much cheaper prices, easier access and avoiding humongous crowds at the real places.

At the same time, instead of going to costly foreign places, travellers can find the same happiness, features in a local destination. This also means that the local economies will improve. For example Kashmir can be visited in place of Switzerland, Pondicherry in place of Europe, Goa in place of Bali or Thailand.
