The incident occurred on March 10, when Priyadarshini accompanied by her son and daughter reportedly visited the home of her father-in-law, J Narasimaiah in Annapoorneshwarinagar. Narasimaiah lodged a complaint with the police claiming that Dr. Priyadarshini physically and verbally abused him, his wife, and his son Naveen Kumar, during the visit.
According to Narasimaiah, his son had filed for divorce from Priyadarshini in 2007, and the altercation was a result of ongoing marital issues. Priyadarshini, in her defense, stated that she was provoked by her in-laws and visited their house to discuss her husband’s failure to provide financial support for their children. She admitted that the situation escalated when her children reacted, leading to the video being recorded.
The viral video shows Priyadarshini allegedly dragging her mother-in-law by her hair and shouting at her in a heated manner, while her daughter is seen kicking the elderly couple. The post accompanying the video further claims that Narasimaiah who is a heart patient was kicked and stamped on and his wife who is a cancer survivor was dragged by her mangalsutra for several minutes. Police have registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including causing hurt and criminal intimidation and are investigating both sides of the incident.
