In a series of courtroom developments today, Darshan, the accused in the Renukaswamy murder case, faced significant setbacks. His period of judicial custody, which was set to expire, has been extended once again. Darshan attended the court session via video conference from Parappana Agrahara jail, where he has been held since his arrest.

Despite the anticipation of applying for bail, Darshan's legal team has not yet submitted a bail application. Consequently, the court, presided over by Judge Vishwanath C. Gowdar, ruled to extend Darshan's custody until August 1. This decision came after a thorough inquiry by the judge.

Adding to Darshan's woes, his request for home-cooked meals in jail was met with disappointment. The High Court, currently reviewing the application, is considering the legal implications before making a decision. Both the defense and the prosecution presented their arguments, leading to an adjournment of the hearing to 2:30 PM tomorrow.

Darshan's legal team, led by senior advocate KN Phanindra, has also petitioned the High Court for additional privileges, including food, bedding, and books. The case was heard by Justice SR Krishnakumar, with SPP Prasanna Kumar representing the government.

As Darshan awaits further court decisions, his legal battles continue to draw significant attention, reflecting the complexities and high stakes involved in the Renukaswamy murder case.
