A proposed underwater rail link between Mumbai and Dubai, if approved, could reduce travel time to just two hours, transforming connectivity between the two cities. The project, conceived by the UAE’s National Advisor Bureau Limited, envisions a high speed train capable of reaching speeds between 600 km/h and 1000 km/h, offering an alternative to air travel. While the concept was introduced several years ago, there have been limited updates regarding its approval or development progress.

The rail system is designed not only to improve passenger travel but also to facilitate the faster movement of goods, including crude oil and clean water between India and UAE. A video released by the YouTube account claiming to represent the National Advisor Bureau Limited illustrates the proposed rail system, showcasing stunning views of the underwater world passengers would experience during the journey.
Given the technical complexities of building such a project, an estimated investment of billions of dollars is required. However, if the project receives the necessary approvals, the rail link could be completed by 2030. This high speed connection is seen as a major step forward in enhancing trade relations between India and the UAE, providing a more sustainable and efficient transport option for both passengers and cargo.
The project is still in the discussion phase, with further developments dependent on securing financial investments and government approvals.
If realized, this underwater rail link could reshape the future of travel and trade between the two nations.
