E-Khata corruption: BBMP launches helpline; aggrieved parties to call 9480683695 to complain

Bengaluru's civic body, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), is facing allegations of corruption in the issuance of e-khatas, a digital version of the Khata document that recognizes property ownership and legal details. The e-khata platform was initially launched to reduce corruption and streamline the process of property registration. However, recent reports have surfaced claiming that BBMP officials and staff are demanding bribes for issuing e-khatas, undermining the very purpose of the digital initiative.

Upon receiving complaints, the BBMP has become highly alert to the situation and has vowed to take strict action against those involved in corrupt practices.
