EaseMyTrip co-founder Prashant Pitti has offered to contribute ₹1 crore of his personal funds to help address Bengaluru’s growing traffic issues. In a post shared on X ,he expressed frustration after spending more than two hours covering just 11 km on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) late Saturday night.

Pitti mentioned that he was stuck for over 100 minutes at a single intersection where there was no signal or traffic police present. Sharing his experience, he wrote, “I am willing to contribute ₹1 crore personally if some effective model can be made to ease Bengaluru traffic.”
He also noted that he is ready to invest in a team of AI engineers and necessary infrastructure but cooperation from city officials would be essential, particularly for access to real-time traffic data. His idea, he noted, would only work if the local administration is open to collaboration.
I don’t want one more Bengaluru traffic meme or rant. I want to fix it,” he added in a follow-up post. He referred to Google Maps’ new “Road Management Insight” tool, which provides city-level traffic data in BigQuery format. Pitti suggested using satellite imagery and AI to identify exact jams happening in the city.
I am committing INR 1 Cr to find Bangalore Choke-Points via Google Maps & AL.
11 km → 2.15 hours in Bangalore Traffic on Saturday late night!
I was stuck at one choke-point at ORR, where I spent 100 mins struggling to understand why there is no traffic-light or cop here!

Many users online agreed with his concerns and shared similar experiences. While it’s unclear what the next steps will be, his post has started a conversation about using technology to improve traffic flow in the city as well.
