Eight distinguished individuals from Karnataka have been conferred with the prestigious Padma awards for 2025, recognizing their exceptional contributions across various fields. The Union government announced the awardees on Saturday, including one Padma Vibhushan, two Padma Bhushan, and five Padma Shri recipients.

Dr. L Subramaniam, the renowned violin maestro and composer, was honoured with the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian award. Versatile actor Anant Nag and veteran journalist Dr. A Surya Prakash received the Padma Bhushan for their outstanding contributions to cinema and media, respectively.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM D K Shivakumar congratulated the awardees on social media, acknowledging their exceptional contributions to society.

The Padma awards, traditionally announced on the eve of Republic Day, celebrate outstanding achievements in various fields, including art, literature, science, and public service.
