The stagnation of work pertaining to the Ejipura flyover on the Koramangala 100-feet road in Bengaluru had become a cause for much public anger and even memes. One of the memes had used a dialogue from Vicky Kaushal-starrer Masaan, “Saala ye dukh kaahe khatam nahi hota bey”(Why doesn’t this sorrow end) and captioned it as “All businesses on 100 Feet Road between Kendriya Sadan and Ejipura Junction when flyover project was proposed and then construction of flyover is going on without an end in sight.”

The project was initiated in 2017. The estimated period of completion was 2 years and the allocated budget was Rs 204 crore. However, the company allocated with the project, Simplex, had faced financial shortcomings in 2018 and the work remained incomplete. The contract was terminated in 2022. After 3 unsuccessful bidding attempts, B. Seenaiah & Company (Projects) Limited (BSCPL) has bagged the project. An additional Rs 104 crore would be incurred by the project. The project is estimated to be complete in 1 year's time.
“The evaluation of the current state of the project has quantified the work completed to be worth ₹73 Crore, and another ₹142 crore earmarked for the project is pending with the civic body. The state cabinet has approved an additional ₹93 Crore for the project,” sources in the government said as per a report in The Hindu.
