Dr. M.R. Doreswamy, the visionary educationist and founder of PES Educational Institutions, passed away at the age of 88 due to age-related ailments. His demise marks the end of an era in Karnataka’s academic landscape.

Dr. Doreswamy, a respected name in the field of education, laid the foundation of PES (People’s Education Society) in 1972 with just over 40 students in Bengaluru. Over the decades, his unwavering commitment to academic excellence transformed PES into one of the premier educational groups in India. Today, PES institutions cater to over 18,000 students across multiple campuses in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, offering courses in engineering, management, law, and medical sciences.
Recognizing the need for quality healthcare education, Dr. Doreswamy established the PES Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in 2001. Under his leadership, PES grew into a hub of innovation, producing thousands of professionals who have made significant contributions across various sectors.
His passing is a profound loss to the academic community. Many former students and academicians expressed their condolences, remembering him as an inspiring leader and mentor.
