SS Rajamouli’s re-cut version of the Baahubali saga marks its 10th anniversary with a record-breaking re-release, collecting ₹9.25 crore on Day 1 and reigniting global fan frenzy.
The Baahubali phenomenon continues to make history even after a decade. On the occasion of its 10th anniversary, director SS Rajamouli re-released the epic saga as Baahubali- The Epic, combining both The Beginning and The Conclusion into one 3-hour-45-minute film.
The film’s re-release opened to thunderous response across India, minting ₹9.25 crore on its first day, the highest ever for a re-released Indian film. It surpassed the previous record held by Pawan Kalyan’s Gabbar Singh, which collected ₹5.75 crore.

The magic didn’t stop in India. In North America, where Baahubali 2 still holds the record for the highest-grossing Indian film, Baahubali- The Epic earned over USD 100,000 by early evening and nearly USD 500,000 from premiere shows, proving its enduring global appeal.
However, the film couldn’t break the Hindi re-release record held by Sanam Teri Kasam (₹4.5 crore opening), as The Epic managed ₹1.4 crore in Hindi. Despite that, trade experts predict it will soon become the highest-grossing re-released film across India.
