Filmmaker Abhinav Kashyap, best known for directing the 2010 hit Dabangg, has once again targeted actor Salman Khan and his family, reviving a long-standing feud that began after the film’s release. Kashyap, who opted out of directing the sequel Dabangg 2, alleged that his decision led to deliberate attempts by the Khans to derail his career.

Dabangg’s 15th anniversary
Speaking ahead of Dabangg’s 15th anniversary, the director described his turbulent experience during the shoot and criticized Salman’s approach to acting. According to him, the superstar prioritizes his celebrity image over his craft, which created significant challenges on set. He further accused the Khan family of fostering a culture of control within the industry, suggesting that those unwilling to comply with their influence often face professional setbacks.
The filmmaker also drew parallels with the experiences of his brother, Anurag Kashyap, who had earlier worked on the 2003 film Tere Naam. Abhinav claimed Anurag faced similar difficulties when creative differences with producer Boney Kapoor forced him to exit the project despite having written its script. He alleged that credit was withheld from Anurag, echoing what he described as a recurring pattern of suppression within the industry.
While Abhinav continues to voice his grievances, Salman Khan has never publicly responded to these accusations. The renewed remarks have once again brought the controversy surrounding Dabangg and its director into the spotlight, highlighting the uneasy relationship between creative freedom and star power in Bollywood.
