Actor urges fans to stay strong as wife Vijayalakshmi defends him against ‘false allegations’
With actor Darshan still lodged in Parappana Agrahara jail in connection with the Renukaswamy case, his upcoming film The Devil is set to release on December 11 without him. The situation has left his fan base deeply disappointed, but Darshan has reached out to them through an emotional handwritten message delivered by his wife, Vijayalakshmi.

Sharing the letter on Instagram, Vijayalakshmi conveyed Darshan’s note to his supporters. In the message, the actor expresses that he feels their presence and support even while being physically away. He says Vijayalakshmi keeps him updated about the love, concern and movie promotions carried out by fans. Darshan urges them not to be disturbed by rumours or negativity, calling his fans his “strength and family”.
He requests fans to focus fully on The Devil and extend the same affection to the film that they have shown him over the years. Darshan writes that their unity, efforts and dedication make him proud, and that he is eagerly waiting for the day he can meet them again. He adds that time will reveal the truth and asks his supporters to stay strong until then.

Meanwhile, Vijayalakshmi has strongly rejected reports claiming Darshan displayed arrogance towards other accused inside the jail. She clarified that she personally visited the prison and spoke to officials, stressing that the allegations are “false, baseless and malicious”. In her post, she wrote that lies may be loud, but truth eventually prevails, taking a direct swipe at critics.
Reports had earlier suggested that co-accused Anukumar, Jagga, Nagraj, Pradosh and Lakshman were mistreated by Darshan inside the jail, which Vijayalakshmi has dismissed as misinformation.
