Kannada TV actress Asha Jois booked in ₹2-crore blackmail and data theft case

A Kannada television actress has been accused of stealing private videos and photos of her friend and using them for blackmail, demanding ₹2 crore.

Kannada television actress Asha Jois has landed in legal trouble after being accused of blackmailing and stealing personal data from her friend. The actress, who has appeared in several TV serials and once participated in Miss India Planet 2016, now faces an FIR at the Tilaknagar Police Station.

The complainant, a 61-year-old woman named Parvathi, filed a case alleging that the actress stole her private videos, voice recordings, and photos to blackmail her. The two reportedly met three years ago, when Asha Jois introduced herself as a member of the Sringeri Sharada Peetha’s Jois family and as a television actress.

According to the complaint, Parvathi was married to the owner of the company she worked for. Upon learning of this, Asha Jois allegedly attempted to pressure Parvathi into helping her blackmail the man for ₹2 crore. When Parvathi refused, the actress is accused of stealing her personal videos and sharing them with acquaintances, causing severe emotional distress and reputational damage.

Following the complaint, Tilaknagar Police have registered a case against Asha Joys under charges related to blackmail, data theft, and invasion of privacy. The investigation is underway to verify the allegations and recover the leaked digital material.
