Wayfarer Films, backed by Dulquer Salmaan, issued an official apology after a dialogue from Lokah: Chapter One hurt Bengaluru people’s sentiments. The team has assured the dialogue will be edited out.
The recently released film Lokah: Chapter One, produced by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films and released in Karnataka by Raj B. Shetty, has found itself in controversy. A dialogue in the film, allegedly derogatory towards Bengaluru women, unintentionally hurt the sentiments of people in Bengaluru, leading to widespread backlash.

Responding swiftly, Wayfarer Films issued an official statement on social media, expressing deep regret over the matter. “We place people above everything else. We sincerely apologise for the hurt caused and assure you that no offence was intended. The dialogue in question will be removed/edited at the earliest,” the statement read.

The post further urged audiences to accept their apology, reiterating that the oversight was unintentional. The makers confirmed that necessary corrections will be made before further screenings.
While Lokah: Chapter One has been garnering attention for its unique storyline and production scale, the controversy showing Bengaluru as a hub for drugs and for derogatory remarks against Bengaluru women has sparked heated debates in the city. The apology, however, has helped ease tensions to an extent, as fans await the edited version.
