Roshan family marks milestones as Krrish 4 gears up for 2027 release

The year 2025 has turned out to be a landmark one for the Roshan family. Early in the year, they commanded attention with the Netflix launch of The Roshans and the re-release of the 2000 classic Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai. The latter coincided with Hrithik Roshan completing 25 years in cinema, a journey celebrated in spectacular fashion.

Adding to the excitement, Hrithik Roshan announced that he would step into the director’s chair for the first time with Krrish 4, taking forward the legacy of the blockbuster franchise created by his father, Rakesh Roshan. The film marks Hrithik’s evolution from actor to filmmaker, symbolizing a generational shift in the Roshan household.

Rakesh Roshan reveals filming will begin by mid-2026

Rakesh Roshan, who recently turned 76, revealed that the much-anticipated project is set to begin filming by mid-2026. The extensive pre-production phase will ensure that the film meets the ambitious creative and technical benchmarks associated with the franchise. The shoot is expected to stretch through the end of 2026, paving the way for a planned 2027 release.

Krrish 4 continues the saga that began with Koi Mil Gaya (2003), followed by Krrish (2006) and Krrish 3 (2013). In a notable development, the upcoming film is being co-produced by Yash Raj Films and Filmkraft, marking the first collaboration between the two banners. This partnership is expected to bring added scale and vision to one of Bollywood’s most successful superhero universes.
