Madras HC orders CBFC to issue UA 16+ certificate for Vijay’s Jana Nayagan, clearing delays; producer Venkat K Narayana confirms release soon via X
The long-running obstacle surrounding Kollywood star Vijay Thalapathy’s film Jana Nayagan has been resolved, with the Madras High Court directing the Central Board of Film Certification to immediately issue a UA 16+ certificate. This ruling clears the way for the film’s release after weeks of uncertainty.
The verdict, delivered on Thursday by Justice P.T. Asha, came in favour of the producers following detailed arguments from both sides. The order effectively grants approval for Vijay’s final film, which had faced delays after missing censor clearance ahead of its planned January 9 release.
With the certification now mandated, producer Venkat K Narayana has shared a video message on X, addressing the development and assuring audiences that Jana Nayagan will reach theatres soon.
